Hunting dogs were bred primarily to work with people to hunt animals, fish and birds. Hunting dogs have been bred to suit not only varying environments and climates but also in order to hunt particular types of quarry. The Hunting Dogs have varying skills and functions. And hunting dogs have different Hunting Techniques and Hunting Methods depending on the traits and characteristics of the breeds - Sighthounds, Scent Hounds, Hound dogs and Terriers.

Hunting Methods and Hunting Techniques
Hunting dogs have different Hunting Techniques and Hunting Methods depending on the traits and characteristics of the breeds - Sighthounds, Scent Hounds, Hound dogs and Terriers. Many of these Hunting dogs will chase and kill their prey. Other Hunting breeds of dogs such as the Retrievers, Setters and Pointers accompany and assist the hunter in locating or retrieving the game leaving the actual kill to the hunter.
